Fredrick Lisle Jensen 1919 ~ 2013 Our father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away peacefully at his home in Salt Lake City, Utah on the morning of July 9, 2013 of natural causes due to his age. Dad was born December 2, 1919 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Fredrick Young and Madora LaVerna Rogerson Jensen, the oldest of four boys that were raised in Monticello, Utah. Dad was an outstanding athlete in high school and at Carbon College lettering in three sports. He married Vivian Maxine Wingo November 17, 1941. He joined the Army Air Corp in 1943, served in Europe during WWII and was honorably discharged in 1946. Lisle and Maxine were married for 62 years and together they raised six sons. Dad worked in the automatic fire protection sprinkler business for most of his working life. He was a very hard worker and was respected by all those who knew him best. Dad was an avid sports fan who never missed a Jazz game. He loved to fish, usually catching the biggest and the most. He claimed we had to hold our mouth just right . After retirement, he truly enjoyed serving in the Jordan River Temple for over 25 years. This experience helped him develop a love for genealogy. He enjoyed researching his ancestors and providing eternal opportunities for them. He was preceded in death by his wife Maxine; and his brothers Quinn and Neale. He is survived by his brother Clyde; and sons Fred (Renee), Pat, Mark, Kim (Mia), Kelley (Paula) and Chris (Lisa). He also has 17 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Dad, we will miss your sage wisdom, your great sense of humor and your way with words. We will also miss our fishing trips to Los Barilles, Mexico and Strawberry Reservoir. Most of all we will miss your example of integrity, work ethic and kindness. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 16, 2013, 11:00 a.m. at the Kearns 16th Ward, 4731 South 4300 West.
