Fredrick Philip Turner 1946 ~ 2012 Fredrick Philip Turner, born on September 30, 1946 to Chloe and Fredrick P. Turner, passed away on May 26, 2012, peacefully at home surrounded by his children, due to renal failure. Married Karen Jeanne Turner, although later divorced, they remained friends until she preceded him in death March 24, 2010. Dad graduated from West High School, attended the University of Utah and served his country in the United States Navy. He worked for the United States Postal Service until his retirement. Dad enjoyed sports and spent many happy days cheering and supporting his children at their basketball and baseball games and then later doing the same with his grandchildren. He was typically the loudest and most outspoken fan at these games, and this will be truly missed by his grandchildren. He also held many callings in the church, including Primary teacher, Activities Committee and, of course, coach. Dad also loved to have his morning iced tea at Tammie s Diner and spent many hours there chatting and sharing stories with the crew and regulars . Fred is survived by his children: Jenny Marie (Jeff) Brotherson, Amanda Jeanne (Darren) Richards, Tari Leanne Turner, Fredrick Preston Turner; his grandchildren: Cody, Braydon, Alex, Dallas, Nate and Bailee. He is also survived by his sisters, Joyce and Jean; many nieces and nephews as well as all his special friends at Tammie s Diner. Preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Sydney Richards; brothers, Wayne and Donnald; sisters, Mikey, Beth, Bobbie, Donine. The family would like to thank the wonderful and amazing staff at Intermountain Medical Center, Intermountain Hospice and Promise Hospital for their loving care of dad over the past few weeks. At dad s request he was cremated and a private family service will be held. Friends and family would like to celebrate dad s life and share memories please join us for a BBQ/picnic on Thursday, May 31, 2012, 3:30-6:00 p.m. at the Taylorsville 38th Ward Bowery, 4310 South 3200 West.
