Gabriel I. Washburn Finally Free Father, son, brother and friend, Gabriel Irvin Washburn, departed this life on February 20, 2012 at his home in Salt Lake City, Utah. Gabriel was born in Reno, Nevada on February 23, 1980. He lived, worked and played throughout the Salt Lake Valley all through his 32 years. He graduated from the school of hard knocks. He loved life, friends, family and most of all his children. He loved to camp, fish and live life to the fullest. Some of his happiest moments were entertaining and barbequing at his home. He was a kind and generous spirit. He loved working with his hands. He was exceptionally talented in the ways of carpentry. He worked for many local companies building and maintaining homes. His dream was to open his own copper art studio, and eventually sailing around the world. He will deeply be missed by his children: Christian, Hunter, Damian and Anthony; and their mothers, Samantha Pyper and Jackie Malcolm. He is survived by his mother and fathers, Valerie and Scott Simonsen and David Payton; brothers, Joshua Payton, Matthew Payton and Justin McCaskill; sisters: BJ Payton, Kailliene Simonsen, Carli Simonsen, Krista Payton, and Emily Payton. He leaves behind his grandmother Carolyn Connary; his Aunt Francine and Uncle David Bird; and will be greatly missed by his many cousins, in-laws, extended family, and all of his friends. He will be meeting his brother Nicholas Simonsen in the afterlife. Church services to be held at Our Savior s Lutheran Church, Saturday, February 25, 2012, 2:00 p.m., at 3500 East 2500 South.
