Gail Howard Christiansen Grandpa Gail Howard Christiansen, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend peacefully passed on to his eternal home June 18, 2013 due to complications of advanced age. Gail was born December 20, 1929 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Charles Gustav and Hannah Haleen Christiansen. Gail married Joanne Mary Thompson in December 1951; their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. Gail served his country first as an ROTC cadet at Ogden High School, then shortly after for four years in the United States Air force as a Staff Sergeant during the Korean War. Gail is survived by his wife, Joanne Christiansen; seven children; Janice (Lynn) Buchanan, Reid (Dawn) Christiansen, Sheryl Wixom, David (LeAnne) Christiansen, Grant (Leslie) Christiansen, Cathleen Johnson, and Jodi (Travis) Norton; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a sister Carol (Kay) Olsen, a sister in-law Elaine Christiansen, a sister in-law, Phyllis Christiansen, and a sister in-law, Connie Thompson. He was preceded in death by one child, his parents, a brother and his wife, Arden and Doris Christiansen, a brother, Dean Christiansen, and a brother, Clyde Christiansen. He was also preceded in death by three brothers- in-law, Clyde Thompson, Gene Thompson, and George Thompson, two sisters in-law, Alice Blackwelder, Darlene Thompson and one grandchild, Justin Wixom. The family would like to express their endless gratitude to the Oquirrh Kidney Dialysis Center. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 22, 2013, 11:00 a.m. at the Jordan North 6th Ward, 3650 West 4400 South. Viewings will be held Friday, 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road and Saturday at the church, 10-10:45 a.m. Interment, Valley View Memorial Park.
