Gary James White passed away Saturday, April 26, 2014 after a long and valiant fight with cancer. Born July 13, 1944 in Hot Springs, Arkansas to Wilber and Edith Honeycutt White. He married Katherine Schilling and they had one daughter; later divorced. He married Betty Trolson Schiffman July 15, 1979 in Reno, Nevada. Most of his childhood was spent in Oregon where he graduated from high school and received honors playing the tuba. He later acquired his Associates Degree. Gary served honorably in the Air Force for eight years, most of that time in Iceland and Mississippi. He worked many years for the Rio Grande Railroad as a Communications Technician, retiring from the Union Pacific Railroad when it acquired the Rio Grande. He loved computers and all things technical. He thirsted for knowledge and continued learning constantly. He also loved gardening, planting and harvesting. Gary was so loving and very generous. He gave so much to so many. He is survived by his wife, Betty, Midvale, UT; daughter, Dana (Harry) Windham, TX; stepson, Kevin (Dalelene) Schiffman, West Jordan, UT; 3 grandchildren: Justin (Becky) Schiffman, West Jordan, UT; Ryan (KayLynn) Schiffman, Vernal; and Tricia Schiffman, West Jordan, UT; 5 great-grandchildren; brothers: Raymond (Gladys) White, TX; Harold (Mary) White, OR; sisters: Dolores (Mark) Brinkoetter, ID; Sylvia (Dean) Ivie, ID.
