Gene R. Loveless

February 3, 1964 — January 14, 2014

Gene Raymond Loveless, 49, passed away January 14, 2014 in West Jordan, Utah. Born February 3, 1964 in Murray, Utah, son of Marvin Dean Loveless and Shirlene Strong Sorenson. Married Cherokee Nelson in Salt Lake City, Utah October 29, 1998. Gene was an amazing man, a loving father, son, brother, husband, uncle and friend to anyone who knew him. He was a man with a big appetite and an even bigger heart. He is our protector and angel. Gene was an amazing cook who loved to feed everyone. He had a unique ability to create the most amazing dishes always wrapped in bacon. He made everyone feel welcome and loved. He was an artist in his craft of carpet repair. Owning his own business was his biggest dream. Gene accomplished every goal he set for himself. He was the best friend anyone could ask for. He had a way of making people smile and laugh. He hugged everyone, even if they didn't want to be hugged! His hugs were contagious. He put everyone else first and always thought about others needs before his. Gene's favorite place to be was at the Sand Dunes riding 4 wheelers and cooking for family and friends. He had a special love of all God's creatures, especially dogs and spiders. He will be greatly missed. It is not the size of the man in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the man. Survived by wife, Cherokee; children: Taylor, Tierra, Tanner and Chevy; siblings: Dena, Sonja, Wendy, Randy, Mindy and Polly. Preceded in death by stepfather, Carl A. Sorenson. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 18, 2014, 11:00 a.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, Taylorsville, UT with a visitation 10-10:45 a.m..
