"Loving Mema" Genell Chloa McKee Wells, an avid obituary reader and genealogist, died January 4, 2015 due to complications of pneumonia, while surrounded by her family. Born April 4, 1961 to Gene & Nell McKee, she grew up in Kearns. Genell and Mark Wells were married on February 23, 1979. She was a loving mother to Melissa (TJ), Michele (Tyler), Matthew (Joslyn), Marci (Chris) and Melanie (Peter). Genell graduated from Westminster College in 2000 with a degree in Communications. She loved writing and worked on many freelance projects. She was always involved in the PTA and most recently wrote grants for the Utah State PTA. She loved to travel with Mark all over the world, and greatly enjoyed their time living in New York. The greatest of her many accomplishments was being a Mema. She was the Best Mema in the World to Tommy, Joshua, George, Remy, Henry, Patrick, Liam, Hadlee, Jackson, Fiona, Oscar and Quincy. The grandchildren will miss playing games, bowling and sleepovers, but most of all the treats for the ride home. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 9, 2015, 12:00 noon at the Valley Park 6th Ward, 5233 South 3200 West. Viewings will be held Thursday, January 8, 2015, 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road and Friday at the church, 10-11:30 a.m. Interment, Redwood Memorial Estates.
