Our beloved husband, father, and grandfather, George Hopkins Brown passed away peacefully March 27, 2015 of natural causes. He was the son of Fred F. Brown, Sr. and Narcy C. Brown Miles. George grew up in Southwest Virginia. He joined the Army during WWII and served his country stateside and in the Philippines until the war ended. In 1947, he married Audrey M. King. They had two sons, Mike and Jerry. In 1959 the family moved to Utah because of a job transfer with Hercules. George rose through the ranks to become Production Superintendent for several versions of Polaris, Poseidon, and Trident submarine missiles. He enjoyed target pistol shooting, riding motorcycles and playing golf with his two sons. During retirement he enjoyed fishing and playing golf with his wife, Audrey, as they traveled around the West with their fifth wheel trailer. He especially enjoyed finishing the family cabin with his son Jerry that they built and worked on together. He loved his granddaughter, Elizabeth, and talked about her with anyone that would listen. George was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, his sister Edith Lethcoe, and his brothers Fred Brown, Jr. and Don Brown. He is survived by his son Mike (Janet) Brown, his son Jerry (Pam) Brown, his granddaughter Elizabeth (Scott) Howell; and many wonderful family members, neighbors, and friends. The family thanks all those who cared for, visited, called or sent cards to George and Audrey for their love and support.
