George Leon Eldredge Jr.

George Eldredge, loving husband, father, uncle, brother, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away at his home in South Jordan, Utah on November 25, 2017 at the age of 84. He was born July 16, 1933 in Bingham Canyon, Utah to George and Martha Richards Eldredge. His early years were spent in the Sugar House area of Salt Lake and his teenage and young adult years in San Francisco, CA. He worked since he was 11 years old. He was a commissioned officer and pilot in the US Air Force and spent many years as a banker and investment analyst, but felt his greatest achievement was his wonderful family. He married Patricia Marie Geertsen, his bride of 63 years, May 6, 1954 in the Salt Lake Temple. He lived his life centered on the Savior, his eternal sweetheart Patricia and his family. An unkind word was never spoken by this selfless man. He loved serving in many different positions in the LDS Church and especially enjoyed being a temple worker in the Jordan River Temple. He is survived by his wife Patricia; children Suzanne Eldredge Milligan, Laurie Eldredge Fitzgerald (York), David George Eldredge (Diane), and Steven John Eldredge (Stephanie); 16 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren, and brother Paul Snelgrove Richards Eldredge. He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings Edith Christensen and Mary Jo Fuellenbach. Dad, you are a true hero, example and disciple of Christ. Your legacy of devotion, love and kindness will transcend generations to come. We love you and miss you, till we meet again. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, December 2nd, 11:00 a.m. at the South Jordan West Chapel, 1409 West Shields Lane (9800 South) where viewings will be held Friday, December 1st, 6 8:00 p.m. and again Saturday, 10 10:45 a.m. prior to funeral services. Interment is at Midway City Cemetery, 600 W 500 S, Midway, Utah following the funeral service. Arrangements under the direction of McDougal Funeral Home.
