G. Ray Tolley 1929 - 2011 G. Ray Tolley, of Kearns, Utah, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on September 25, 2011. Ray was born November 27, 1929 in Rigby, Idaho to Perry William and Ella Fowkes Tolley. He married his sweetheart, Ellen Beth Finn on his birthday, November, 27, 1946. They spent 64 wonderful years together. Ray was raised in Rigby, Idaho and in 1949, he proudly enlisted in the United States Army during the Korean War and was honorably discharged. Ray and Beth moved from Rigby, Idaho in 1961, and settled in Kearns, Utah to raise their family. Ray was very active in the LDS church where he served in many callings, most recently as Bishop. Once you met Ray, you knew you had made a friend for life. Ray loved working in his woodworking shop. You never knew when you might receive a special treasure handmade by Grandpa. Those items will forever be cherished. He also enjoyed trains and had an extensive collection, enjoyed by all. In his younger day, Ray was a member of the Retreads Motorcycle Club and enjoyed riding his Harley. Ray loved his family, was very proud of them and treasured time spent together. Ray and Beth could be found driving down the highway in their motor home at any time of year. They both enjoyed traveling and camping with their family. The camping trips will now be missing, but forever held in our hearts, our husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Ray is survived by his wife of 64 years, sister, Inez Presslar; daughter, Susan (Don) Somsen; son, Danny (Julie) Tolley; daughter, Rosalee (Robert) Anderson; son, Neil (Tonya) Tolley; 12 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; 5 brothers and 2 sisters. Funeral services will he held Friday, September 30, 2011, 11:00 a.m. at the Kearns 3rd Ward, 4731 South 4300 West, Kearns, UT. Family and friends may call Thursday, September 29, 2011, 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, Taylorsville, UT and Friday at the church, 10-10:45 a.m. Burial will be Saturday, October 1, 2011, 2:00 p.m. in the Rigby Pioneer Cemetery, Rigby, Idaho.
