George Alan Webb, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, was born July 22nd, 1939, to Francis Emery Webb and Annis Lydia Martineau in Salt Lake City, Utah.
He passed away on December 30, 2024. He was the oldest of eleven children.
He served a full-time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Central Atlantic States mission. He was a member of the 19th Special Forces for the Utah National Guard. He held many callings in the church throughout his life, including Bishop, Ward Mission Leader, and High Priest Group Leader. He served faithfully for 10 years at the Bishop Storehouse over home storage.
He married Louise Holder on May 8th, 1964, in the Salt Lake Temple and had four children. He had many hobbies which included building model trains, model airplanes, ham radio operator, and watching the stars through his many telescopes. He built his first computer in 1984.
He played many sports including softball, volleyball, basketball and horseshoes. He was a handy-man, and did all the home construction, home repair and concrete work for himself and others. He built many wood projects for his great-grandchildren.
He spent his entire career and retired from Kennecott Copper where he spent most of his time at the smelter. He also worked part-time construction.
He is survived by his wife, Louise, his children Dean (Colleen), Duane, Janalee (Scott) and Jeff (Brandi), 19 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, four brothers and three sisters.
He is preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.
The viewing and funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2025 at the LDS Church building on 4634 W Harman Drive in West Valley City. The viewing will begin at 10:00 am and the funeral services will begin at 11:30 am. The interment will be at Valley View Memorial, 4335 W 4100 S in West Valley City.
In lieu of flowers he has requested donating to the General Missionary Fund of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
