Georgia Carolyn Wood Wells

October 26, 1935 — January 24, 2021

Our dear, sweet, gentle mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, Georgia Carolyn Wood Wells, passed peacefully into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 24, 2021. She passed from a sudden illness and had been on in-home hospice for about one week.

Georgia was born in American Falls, Idaho to George and Gladys Wood on October 26, 1935. She had one brother, Harrison Wood (deceased), and an infant sister, Marjorie (deceased).

She grew up in Pocatello, Idaho where she met the love of her life, Glen Bennett Wells, at Pocatello High School. They were married in Pocatello on November 13, 1954 and later sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple. Georgia and Glen lived briefly in Ely, Nevada and Pocatello, Idaho, but soon moved to the Salt Lake Valley, residing in Taylorsville for the last 58 years. Georgia was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in many callings in the church. She loved being able to bless others.

Georgia enjoyed life in so many ways including things like gardening and needlepoint, and activities such as skiing, fishing, riding with Glen on the motorcycle, and riding her own four-wheeler ATV. She had a talent and passion for music and loved singing with the Bountiful Sweet Adeline Chorus for many years, traveling and making lifelong friendships. She loved being in the outdoors camping with her family around the west but especially in Utah, Idaho, and Yellowstone National Park. More than anything in life, Georgia loved being with her large extended family. She had a quick smile and welcoming presence wherever she went. She loved deeply and she was deeply loved in return.

Georgia is survived by her husband, Glen; and children Michael Wells (Launa), Richard Wells (Lisa-deceased), Christopher Wells (Lu), and grandchildren Jason Wells (Jennifer), Brian Wells (Ann), Jenny Alama (Brian), Tyler Wells (Arina), Lindsay Lane (Jared), Shalene Morris (Darrell), Megan Thurgood (Tyler), Amber Nattress (Jared), Kristi Jo Frandsen (Aaron-deceased), Ryan Walker (Chelsea), Josh Walker (Wendy), Keith Walker (deceased); and 35 great-grandchildren. We are all eternally grateful for her sacrifice, love, support and example of faith, family, and kindness.
