Geraldine Hansen Farnworth, loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on February 17, 2014. She was born July 3, 1931 in Orem, Utah to V. Emil and Ida Ramseyer Hansen, the youngest of five children. She graduated from Lincoln High in 1949 and from BYU in 1954 with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. She met the love of her life, Keith Farnworth, at BYU and they were married in the Salt Lake Temple June 9, 1954. They lived in several places during their married life including Orem, California, Centerville and finally settling in Taylorsville where they have lived for the past 48 years. They had six children and worked very hard to get them all here. Geri was a breast cancer survivor of 30 years and always faced her trials with a smile on her face and without complaint. She was the eternal optimist. Geri was an active member of the LDS Church and a woman of great faith. She served in several leadership and music positions in the church. She bore her testimony often of Christ and His love for all of us. Her life was centered around her family and serving others. She loved to write poems and wrote one for every important occasion. Music and singing were very important parts of her life and she had many opportunities to share her talent with others. If she wasn't singing, she was cheering on her BYU Cougars because she was BYU Blue through and through. She and Keith had season tickets and attended almost every home BYU football and basketball game for over 25 years until Geri was no longer physically able. However, she never missed watching her Cougars play on TV. She is survived by her husband, Keith, of almost 60 years; children: Laurie (Blake) Beckstrom, Todd (Vicki) Farnworth, Janet (Terry) Robison, Angela (Dave) Hansen, Darin Farnworth (Bob Shurr), and Heidi (Craig) Christensen; 28 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Ruth Watkins and Esther Asay; brothers Russell and Gordon Hansen. We know their reunion was sweet. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 22, 2014, 11;00 a.m. at the Bennion 1st Ward, 3045 West Bernina Dr. (5820 S.) where viewings will be held Friday, February 21, 2014, 6-8 p.m. and Saturday, 10-10:45 a.m. Interment will be at Orem City Cemetery.
