Gerrie John Mooy

December 8, 1942 — September 18, 2017

Heroic husband, father, grandpa, son, and brother, Gerrie J. Mooy, passed Sept. 18, 2017, at home next to his loving wife, Trudie B. Mooy. He was born Dec. 8, 1942, in Amsterdam, Netherlands, to Willem M. Mooij and Jacoba Voogt. His family emigrated to Utah, in 1950 after joining the LDS Church, which Gerrie eventually worked for 28 years. He served a mission back to the Netherlands where he met the love of his life, Trudie. A champion of Jesus Christ, his testimony was born daily through his example of love and kindness to everyone he met. He will be greatly missed by his wife, Trudie; son, David (Judy); grandchildren, Alex, Kate; daughter, Lisa (Mike); grandchildren, Jacob, Bryce; son, Dan (Alicia); grandchildren, Chloee, Daisy, Beau, Broc, Cooper, Casey and Gunner. His legacy of Christlike love will live on through his posterity, and the priceless memories we have of him. We will love you forever, Dad! Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 23, 2017, 11:00 a.m., at the Park LDS 8th Ward, 7411 S. 4800 W, West Jordan, where a viewing will be held prior to service from 9:30-10:45 a.m. Interment, Salt Lake City Cemetery.
