Glenna Hymas Ridge

Glenna Hymas Ridge born on August 1, 1936, passed away peacefully at home on September 16, 2021. She worked hard all her life. She received her Cosmetology License, worked at Dee’s Family Restaurant and Mervyn's Department store. She met many lifelong friends at Mervyn’s that she remained in contact with after she retired.

She loved her friends and family. She enjoyed her weekly dinners with friends, family parties, especially Christmas parties and spending time with loved ones. She loved watching her Utah Jazz.   Glenna loved every time she got to attend a game with one of her loved ones. She was always willing to whip up banana bread, make strawberry jam or sugar cookies. You could always find her cookies at Mervyn’s work parties, family parties, baby showers and even ballparks where her grandchildren played.

Glenna loved her family, especially her 34 grandkids and 30 great-grandkids.  She loved spoiling them, baking her famous sugar cookies and spending any time that she could with them. Whenever she had the opportunity you could find her at a dance recital, sports game or event that one of them was performing in. She was and will always remain their biggest fan.

Glenna is survived by her children Dave (Mary) Ridge, Susanne (Randy) Jones, Melinda (Stan) Romero, Kathy (Mike) Christiansen and Julie (Mark) Meersman; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Viewing will be held for family and close friends at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Rd, Taylorsville at 10:00 am Tuesday, September 21^st.   Graveside Service to follow at Valley View Cemetery, West Valley City at 12:00 pm Tuesday, September 21^st.
