74 Years Old Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, mother in-law, sister, aunt and friend passed away from this life on February 2, 2018. Jean was born to Richard Permit and Gladys Fay Ewell on July 23, 1943 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She lived in Salt Lake City, American Fork and Sandy, Utah, as well as in Georgia, Louisiana, California, Japan and on the island of Midway. She was a devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her hobbies included but are not limited to sewing, camping, fishing, plastic canvas crafts, scrap booking, genealogy, gardening and bowling. She worked as a homemaker, a DJ for the Armed Forces Radio, and manufacturing medical supplies until her retirement. She then worked at being a grandmother and a great-grandmother until her passing. She is survived by 3 children: Jacqueline Kay Garcia, Carl Ray Jones II and Sammantha Marie Jones; 5 grandchildren: Amber, Cody, Keven, Chelsea and Chrystal; and 3 great-grandchildren: Taylor, Kenadie and Zaryn. She is preceded in death by her daughter Tamara Lynn Jones; and one grandson K.C. Garcia. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 16, 2018, 11:00 a.m., at the LDS Church located at 420 East Jeanine Drive (4220 South), Millcreek, UT 84107, where a viewing will be held prior to services from 10-10:45 a.m. Interment, Redwood Memorial Estates, 6500 South Redwood Road, Salt Lake City, UT 84123.
