Gloria Louisa Medina was born on September 30, 1949, in Fresno, California. She attended school and graduated from University High School in West Los Angeles, California. She was married on June 28, 1969, in Los Angeles and is preceded in death by her husband Joe Robert Medina of Tooele, Utah. Also preceded in death by her grandson Anthony Gallegos. She leaves behind three daughters: Gloria Marie Medina-Gallegos (Tony) of Kearns, Utah; Jo Roberta Martinez (Danny) of Tooele, Utah, and Laura Rae Rodriguez (Victor) of Taylorsville, Utah; grandchildren, Joe (Haley) Gallegos, Jessica Gallegos, Michelle Gallegos, Alex Gallegos, Daniel Gallegos, Albert Martinez, Joseph (Camilla) Martinez, Andrew (Samantha) Martinez, Stephanie Gonzales, Victor Rodriguez, Ricardo Rodriguez and Ruben Rodriguez; great-grandchildren, Natalia Alejandra Martinez and Danny Joe Martinez. She is preceded in death by her parents Mario C. and Henrietta Garcia (Los Angeles). She was the oldest of nine sisters: Gloria Garcia (Fresno, California), Lupe Muro (Raymond) (Fresno, California), Mary Riojas (Fresno, California), Elizabeth Garcia (Los Angeles, California), Sally Garcia (Fresno, California), Trini Mora (Pete) (Fresno, California), Yolanda Garcia (Los Angeles, California), and Henrietta Garcia (Los Angeles, California). Gloria spent her career in the field of medical, and was a graduate of Bryman School of Medical Assistants. She was also a member of Calvary Chapel of Salt Lake City. Gloria embraced her time with her grandchildren as well as with family and friends. She also had a very special bond with her pet chihuahua (Bonita). She enjoyed a challenging game of Acy Ducey and will always be our QUEEN. Gloria fought her battle with cancer but that didn't stop her from living life to the fullest. She was a strong person; her faith and trust in God allowed her to face all of her challenges. Her loving spirit touched so many lives; she was an inspiration to us all with her love, kindness and her encouraging words. Gloria was also known as our Yaya, an endearing nickname that was passed down through our family. A service celebrating Gloria's life will be held by family and friends on Wednesday, June 20, 2018, 11:30 a.m., at Calvary Chapel Salt Lake City, 480 W. Century Drive (4350 South), Salt Lake City, Utah. Burial to follow at Tooele City Cemetery, 361 S. 100 East, Tooele, Utah. Reception at Fraternal Order of Eagles, 50 S. 1st St., Tooele, Utah.
