Gloria Mae Rasmussen, loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed away Thursday, December 10, 2015 from a sudden illness. Born to Peter Condie and Mary Florence James on October 23, 1925 in Salt Lake City, Utah, one of two children. Gloria attended elementary and middle schools in Granger and high school in Magna at Cyprus High. She later attended Stevens Henager College to obtain secretarial training. Gloria married Manasseh Ruel Rasmussen, February 11, 1943 in the Salt Lake Temple. They were blessed with three children. Gloria worked in the school lunch program for the Granite School District and later for Deseret Industries. She was a wonderful wife and mother and often sacrificed her time and talents in the care of her family. She was a wonderful cook and she loved to associate with friends and loved ones. Gloria enjoyed time spent camping and traveling with her family and friends. Later in life she enjoyed visiting with friends and participating in activities at the Kearns Senior Center. She will be truly missed by all who knew her. Gloria was a life-long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and taught Primary when her children were younger. She is survived by sons, Richard (VaLeen) Rasmussen, Tremonton, UT, Galen (DiAnn) Rasmussen, Syracuse, UT; 5 granddaughters; and 9 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother Richard; and her daughter Pamela Larsen. The family would like to thank Dr. Roy Gandolfi and his office staff for the excellent and loving care given to Gloria. Thanks also goes to the physicians, nurses and other care givers from Jordan Valley Medical Center - West Valley Campus for their kindness and sensitivity for end of life care. Finally, thanks is expressed to the many neighbors, friends and loved ones who cared for, and rendered service to, the family including love to Ruel and Gloria's children and their spouses for their love and help. She will be loved and missed until we meet again in the eternities. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, 11:00 a.m. at the Memorial Ward, 4251 S. 4800 W. West Valley City. A viewing will be held Monday, 5-7 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 S. Redwood Road and Tuesday at the church, 10-10:45 a.m. Interment, Valley View Memorial Park.
