Helen Camille Sorensen June 9, 1933 ~ August 27, 2013 Camille was born in Kansas City, Missouri to Helen Marie Stieferman and John Robert McDonald. She married, and was sealed for eternity, to her sweetheart, Robert Bob James Sorensen July 22, 1952 in the Logan Temple and recently celebrated their 61st anniversary. They met while Bob was on active duty with the Utah Air National Guard while he was stationed in Olathe, Kansas during the Korean War. Camille worked as a clerk/typist for many organizations, including the LDS Church, where she retired from in 1989. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many callings, including 35 years in the Primary. Her favorite calling was Nursery Leader where she was grandmother to the children. Camille and Bob served a mission together in the Baguio, Philippines Mission from 1989-1991, serving in the Mission office and helping ward and branch leadership. Camille is survived by her husband, Robert Sorensen; daughters Elizabeth (Saul) Montano and Dianne (John) Hill; son John Robert (Karen) Sorensen; grandchildren, known as her angels , Cindy Marie (Sam) Lewis, Christy Lee Crenshaw, Amy Jennifer Montano, Steven Saul Montano and Jason Robert Montano; great-grandchildren Isaiah Keyan Crenshaw, Jeffrey Samuel Alex Lewis, Elizabeth Marie Lewis, Sienna Camille Crenshaw and Christopher Doyle Crenshaw; sister Betty (Van) Williamson; and many others too numerous to mention who considered her a mother and grandmother including 14 foster children. Preceded in death by parents; sister and husband Juanita (Lyle D) Gilbert. Funeral services will be held Friday, August 30, 2013, 11:00 a.m. at the Taylorsville 3rd Ward, 1457 West Atherton Dr. (4300 S.). Viewings will be held Thursday, August 29, 2013, 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road and Friday at the church one hour prior to services. Interment, Salt Lake City Cemetery.
