Helen Doris Lovendosky Rowell

Helen D Rowell, 86, passed away peacefully due to natural causes surrounded by family, on November 25, 2017 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Helen was born May 12, 1931 in Poquonock Bridge, CT to Joseph and Anna Lovendosky. She married Evan G Rowell on January 12, 1954 in Sparks Nevada. Their union was later sealed in the LDS temple on May 12, 1984. Helen met Evan, the love of her life, on the steps outside of the Arthur Murray dance studio in Redwood City, California in 1953. They trained together to become ballroom dance instructors and soon married. They had 10 children together and were married for 52 years. Helen was preceded in death by her husband Evan G Rowell; grandson Billy Rowell; daughter Valerie Kimball; son-in- law Craig Jones; and daughter-in- law Yolanda Rowell. Left to honor Helen are her children Bill Rowell, Evan (Mary) Rowell, Beckie (Gene) Stithem, Tammy (Bruce) Jolley, Darrel (Kim) Rowell, David Rowell, Jon Rowell, Luanna (Chuck) Stam, Lisa (Steve) Lopez; and her beloved chihuahua Honeybear; as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 1st, 11:00 a.m. at Bennion Heights 6th Ward, 5775 South 2700 West, Taylorsville. Viewings will be held Thursday, November 30th, 6-8:00 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road and Friday at the church 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment, Murray City Cemetery.
