Henry Fred Hiller

Henry F. Hiller 1926 ~ 2012 Aufwiedersehen, Papa. We lost our beloved husband, dad, grandpa and great-grandpa, Henry Fred Hiller, age 85, on July 16, 2012. Papa was born December 1, 1926 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Reinhold and Hedwig Hiller. He married his sweetheart, Bonnie Jean Hutchings June 1, 1949 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Papa served in the US Navy during WWII. He loved boating, hunting, football, fishing and being with his family. Papa received a heart transplant in 1988 when the procedure was very new. We are forever grateful to his donor for giving us an extra 23 years to spend with him. Once you cracked his gruff, German exterior, he had a heart of gold. While we are grieving his loss, his parents and brother, Gunter, who preceded him in death, are enjoying a long-awaited reunion. Papa is survived by his sweetheart, Bonnie; children Craig (Holly) Hiller, and Janet (Stan) Ball; 13 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and brother-in-law, Joe Hutchings. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 21, 2012, 11:00 a.m. at the LDS Church, 3070 East Nila Way (4100 S.). A viewing will be held Friday, July 20, 2012, 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road and Saturday at the church, 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services.
