Holli Simmonds

Heaven has received another angel. Holli Simmonds passed away on Sunday, October 25, 2015, at her home, surrounded by family members. The daughter of Annette Ekenstam Dall and Paul Mack (Sharon) Simmonds. Holli fought a courageous battle with cancer for over a year. She is the proud mother of her son Lynkin. He was the love of her life, her entire world. They spent their short time together filled with the many things they loved: camping, boating with family & friends, playing at the park, having water fights in the back yard. But their favorite time was alone time, snuggling together to read books each night before bed, watching his favorite shows multiple times and she would make up stories for him at bed time. Their relationship is amazing. Holli grew up in West Valley & St. George, Utah & graduated from Pine View High in 1991. She went on to graduate from the Police Academy and spent the last 20 years with the Utah Dept. Of Corrections; retiring August 1, 2015. She is survived by her son Lynkin McLean Simmonds; her parents; her brother, Anthony (Nikki) Ekenstam; sister Heather (Skeeter) Ellison; 4 nieces; & 5 nephews. Preceded in death by her grandparents Hilding & Ellen Ekenstam and Ernie & Peg Simmonds. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 28, 2015, 12:00 noon, at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, where a viewing will be held 10-11:45 a.m. The family would like to thank Dr. Anne Kieryn, Dr. Justin Call, Dr. Thomas Skidmore and the staff at Utah Cancer Specialists and Gamma West for their care, as well as nurses from Brighton Home Health and Hospice.
