Howard Lloyd DeVaney

October 10, 1955 — January 22, 2019

Howard Lloyd DeVaney, known as Chip to friends and family, passed peacefully at home in Holladay, Utah on January 22, 2019.

Chip had a heart of gold, an infectious laugh and he cared deeply for those around him. He loved playing guitar, telling a good/bad joke, creating delicious food on his Weber BBQ, golfing, biking, fishing and his Toyota. Most of all he loved spending time with his children and his fiancé (Dena Deleyser). Chip’s grandchildren (Kenya, Hailey and Colby) were the light of his life and the pride he felt for them and their achievements is his legacy.

Known to his parents as “Chipper” in his youth growing up in Wendover, Nevada, he was their only beloved son and we know that they are delighted to be reunited with him.

Chip was preceded in death by the mother of his children Lynne Sprouse and is survived by his children and grandchildren Nicole DeVaney & Ryan Higginson (Kenya Cordero) Jason & Sharon DeVaney (Hailey Alice and Colby Michael DeVaney).

We invite you to come and celebrate Chip’s life at his memorial on Wednesday, January 30th at McDougal Funeral Homes from 6:00-8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers we ask that you light the biggest illegal firework you can get sometime this year in honor of him!
