Howard William Peterson returned home to his Father in Heaven on January 27, 2017 at the age of 86. He was born December 31, 1930 to Hugh Wickman Peterson and Lily Alene Strong in Provo, Utah. He attended Provo High School and went on and graduated with a Masters Degree from Brigham Young University. He did post graduate work at Utah State and University of Utah. He served 2 years in the United States Army in 1951. He was stationed in Germany in Tank Company 3rd Battalion 6th Armored Cavalry Regiment. He married Verona LeCheminant and was sealed in the Salt Lake Temple in 1954. She passed away in 1966. He then met Eva Loy Graham and married in the Salt Lake Temple in 1967. They were married for 50 years. He taught 2 years at Cyprus High School and 31 years at Granger High School as a chemistry, math, and science teacher. He loved his family and his dear wives. He enjoyed boating, camping, traveling and spending time with family. He remained a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held numerous church callings. He is survived by Mark Peterson (Linda), Teresa Andersen (Steve), Steve Washburn (Elizabeth) Gary's wife Sharon, Glen Peterson (Diane), Shauna Baird (Mike); 19 grandkids; and 14 great-grandkids. He is preceded in death by his wives Verona, and Eva Loy; brothers Ray, Grant and Harold; son Gary; grandkids Chelsea Washburn and Zachary Baird. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 3, 2017, 11:00 a.m. at the LDS Stake Center, 3020 West 4700 South, West Valley. Viewings will be held Thursday, February 2, 6-8:00 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, and again prior to services at the church from 10-10:45 a.m. Interment with Military Honors at Redwood Memorial Estates, 6500 South Redwood Road, Taylorsville.
