Idonna Marie Prows, 77, passed away peacefully in her home in Duchesne, Utah on Sunday, February 2, 2025. She was born on March 18, 1947, in Cedar City, Utah to Alma and Lucille Dalton.
On August 28, 1964, Idonna married the love of her life, Rod Prows. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake City Temple in celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary. Together, they built a beautiful life and raised four children.
Idonna had a deep passion for both art and family. She dedicated many years to teaching art at the Senior Centers in Duchesne and Roosevelt, finding great joy in sharing her talents with others. Whether painting, teaching, or simply creating, art was a constant source of happiness in her life. She also loved working at the flower shop in Duchesne, where she found joy in arranging beautiful bouquets. Above all, she cherished her family and was always eager to brag about her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Rod Prows; her children, Russell (Cori) Prows of Mapleton, Utah; Tammy (Eric) Jessen of Kingston, Utah; and Rebecca Prows of Duchesne, Utah; as well as 14 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren with one more arriving soon. She was preceded in death by her parents, her son James, and her grandson Jesse Jessen.
A funeral service will be held at McDougal Funeral Home on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at 11:30 AM, with a viewing prior from 10:00 to 11:15 AM at 4330 South Redwood Road, Taylorsville, Utah. Interment will follow at 3:00 PM at the Duchesne City Cemetery, 700 US-191, Duchesne, Utah.
Idonna's love, creativity, and warmth will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
