Iola Headlee 1920 ~ 2011 Iola Mae Smith Headlee, passed away June 13, 2011. Born February 28, 1920 to Joseph and Margaret Stimpson Smith in Sugar City, Idaho. She was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She attended elementary school in Salt Lake City, Utah and Chester, Idaho and high school in Sugar City, Idaho. She attended trade school at the University of Idaho, Southern Branch, in Pocatello, Idaho, where she met her husband, Hugh Lavor Headlee, and they were married December, 1938. Their early married life took them to Colorado where Lavor enhanced his education and during WWII they moved to Long Beach, CA where they lived until they bought their first home in Lakewood, CA. Iola suffered the loss of six babies, but finally, Hugh was born followed by three younger brothers, Val, Ronald and Gary. Iola s life was devoted to them. After the death of her husband, she moved to Midvale in order to be nearer to her family. Also preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Melden, Armond and Kendall; sister, Margaret Pelton. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 20, 2011, 11:00 a.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road where a viewing will be held Sunday, June 19, 2011, 6-8 p.m. and Monday, 10-10:45 a.m. Interment, Lava Hot Springs Cemetery, Lava Hot Springs, ID.
