Irene Frances Rabe Hoenshell

Our loving mom and grandma,Irene Frances Rabe Hoenshell, 92, died March 27, 2014, in West Jordan, Utah. She was born December 6, 1921, in Ottawa, Illinois, to Frank Charles and Laura Belle DeBolt Rabe. She married Robert Curtis Hoenshell September 6, 1947. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Oakland California LDS Temple. He preceded her in death. She then married Jerry Blanke August 28, 1990. They later divorced, but remained close friends. She was employed with Abbott Laboratories and later worked as a Senior Companion for Salt Lake County Aging Services. Survivors include her children, Donald (Anneliese) Hoenshell, David Hoenshell, Barbara (Ron) Carter, and Kevin (Kathy) Hoenshell; 20 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and sister, Hazel Crouch. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Vera Hettel; brother, Dale Rabe; and son-in-law, Marty Wiker. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 31, 2014, 1:00 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road where viewings will be held Sunday, March 30, 2014, 6-8 p.m. and Monday, 12-12:45 p.m. Interment, Valley View Memorial Park.
