Irene Jones Furness 1921 ~ 2014 Irene Jones Furness, 93, was born May 30, 1921 to Willard James and Mary Alice Warr Jones in Hunter, Utah. Irene graduated from Cypress High School. She married her sweetheart, Ephraim John Furness on June 11, 1943 in the Salt Lake Temple. They recently celebrated their 71st wedding anniversary. Irene served faithfully in many callings throughout her life as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her life was dedicated to serving others. Irene had many talents: sewing, crocheting, quilting and cooking. She was known for her homemade whole wheat bread and raspberry jam. Irene passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family. She will be greatly missed by her husband, Ephraim and children: Mike (Kathy) Furness; Bryant (Patricia) Furness, Jeanette (Bruce) Simkins; Gordon (Janna) Furness, Sharon (Cal) Fotheringham; 24 grandchildren & 30 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday, August 25, 2014, 11:00 a.m. at the LDS Cresent 11th Ward, 89 East 11000 South. A viewing will be held Sunday 6-8:00 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road and again Monday, 10-10:45 a.m. at the church. Interment: Larkin Sunset Gardens.
