Iven Lowell Alsop passed away at the age of 86 on June 3, 2015, in West Valley City, Utah due to Parkinsons disease. He was born Oct. 28, 1928 to Iven G. Alsop and Virginia Hatch in Tooele, Utah. Iven married Alice Patricia Ward March 23, 1951. He graduated from Tooele High School and attended Utah State University. He served an LDS mission in Montana. He was employed at Kennecott Copper, retiring in 1985. Iven was very mechanically inclined and could fix almost anything. He enjoyed camping, hunting, and fishing at Flaming Gorge with his beloved wife Pat. He was an avid reader, and enjoyed music, growing a large garden, and talking to friends all over the world with his ham radio. Iven is survived by his wife Pat, daughters Patricia Ann Helms and Michele Lively (Robert), 7 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and one great- great granddaughter. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Sylvia Langford, brother Hugh Alsop and grandson Joshua Hill. Funeral services will be held Thursday June 11, 2015 at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, at 11:00 a.m. A viewing will be held Wednesday June 10, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. with a viewing from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the funeral service.
