Jacalyn Dymock Barrett, a most beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend, and neighbor returned to her Heavenly Father on Sunday, September 3, 2023, after a long battle with Alzheimer's.
Jackie was born on March 8, 1951, to her loving parents, Kenneth and Arlene Dymock. She was the second oldest of six children and became a second mother to her siblings.
She was eternally sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on March 24,1972, to the love of her life, Kim J. Barrett.
She leaves behind an adoring family and an unwavering testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Jackie grew up in Taylorsville, Utah, surrounded by family. Her grandparents, Charles & Mignon, lived next door and were an integral part of her childhood.
Jackie loved to cook, quilt, sew, crotchet, craft, play card games, golf, cruise, camp, boat, and ride her UTV. Jackie was the glue that held the family together and kept family traditions alive.
Jackie was devoted to her education in executive administration and graduated with her degree from LDS Business College. Jackie worked thirty years serving students, parents, teachers, and administration in education.
She was a dedicated, lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many callings over the years. Jackie had a strong testimony of the power of prayer, performing service, attending the temple, the importance of the plan of salvation for families, and spending as much time as possible as a family.
Jackie was loved by everyone and will be greatly missed by her family.
Jackie is survived by her husband Kim, her five children; Lisa (Mark), Jaime, Nicholas (Ashleigh), Matthew (Haley), and McKenzie (Travis); 10 grandchildren; Taylar (Cody), Justin (Kanessa), Paige, Nathan, Preszley, Olivia, Ryker, and Connor; and 1 great-granddaughter; Sutton.
She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Hal Dymock & Roger Lee Dymock.
A viewing will be held Thursday, September 7, 2023, from 6:00 - 8:00 PM, at the Harvest Park 1 st Ward, 4000 West 12173 South, Riverton, Utah. A second viewing will take place Friday, September 8, 2023, from 9:00 - 9:45 AM, also at the Harvest Park 1st Ward.
Funeral services will begin at 10 AM, immediately following the viewing.
Graveside services will be held Friday, September 8, 2023, at Valley View Memorial Park, located at 4335 West 4100 South, West Valley City, Utah, following the funeral service.
