Jacqueline (Jackie) Carrel Speirs Clayburn, 87, passed away peacefully after a short battle with Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma on Thursday, January 5, 2017, surrounded by her family. Jackie was born in Park City, Utah on December 9, 1929 where she lived until moving to Salt Lake City in 1954. Jackie married Don Brown Clayburn on June 22, 1948, later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They were married 62 years before Don passed away in 2010. She was an active member of the LDS Church and served in many capacities in the Rose Park North 8th Ward. Jackie and Don served a family history mission in Manchester, England. Jackie enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren perform in musical and sporting events. She loved traveling with Don in their RV, especially wintering in Southern California, and traveling with family. Jackie retired from O.C.Tanner Jewelers after 30 years of service and remained friends with many co-workers. She loved her morning walking group and special friends from Colorado Street, Bertha Mason, Doradean Lewis, Betty Payne and Jane Stewart Anderson. She will be greatly missed by sons, Dennis (Carolyn), Doyle, Glen (Lori); daughter, Carol (Brett Seastrand); 10 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sisters-in-law, Glendol Speirs, Doris Coulson, and Jane Brinkerhoff; brother-in-law Grant Clayburn; many nieces, nephews, and neighbors. Preceded in death by her husband, brother, Leo Rolfe Speirs, and grandson, Dean Clayburn. Special thanks to Katrina from Horizon Hospice for her compassionate care. Funeral services will be held Monday, January 9, at 11 am, Rose Park North 8th Ward, 1200 N 1200 W. Friends and family may call at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 S Redwood Rd, Sunday, January 8, from 6-8 pm and Monday at the church from 10:00-10:45 am. Interment at Midway City Cemetery.
