Surrounded by loved ones, Jake Edward Johnston, son of Joseph and Kay Johnston, lost his battle with cancer on September 5, 2021. From a young age Jake had a love for everything outdoors. He was an avid hunter of deer, geese, ducks, just about anything with legs. Jake also enjoyed fishing, especially at ponds on his grandfather's farm in Oklahoma. Jake followed in his father’s footsteps as an arborist and in the art of tree trimming. Jake and his father ran Johnston Tree Service for over 20 years.
Jake is survived by his parents Joseph and Kay Johnston; sister Roxanne Johnston Jolley (Clark Jolley); brother Travis Peterson (Tina Peterson); Dylan Runia whom he loves like a son; Lorri Grover, Justin Cahoon; many nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and nephews.
Jake will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
A celebration of life will be held at Joe and Kay Johnston’s house on September 11, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at 6911 South 2700 West, West Jordan, UT 84084.
