James Alma Legs Facer 8-22-1935 ~ 11-17-2011 Heaven rejoiced on November 17 after our beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend passed away peacefully at home with his family at his side. Al Facer was born in Malad, Idaho to Willard Dalton Facer and Lucile Lavon Williams. After the passing of his mother, Al was privileged to be raised by his Uncle Glen and Aunt Priscilla Facer. Alma is survived by his childhood sweetheart and wife of 60 years Carole; son Russell Jack (Robin) Facer; daughter CarolAnn (the late Jeff) Parkin; daughter-in-law Robyn (Mike) Priestley; grandchildren: Cobie (Reese) Skinner, Burton James (Windy) Facer, Jeffrey James (Brandee) Parkin, Shianne Priscilla (Brandon) Languein, Christopher Michael Facer, and Conner Jack Facer. Al also left behind brother Sherman (the late Nancene) Facer; sister Rula (Ardell) Hatch; sister Carol (Glen) Allen, and sister-in-law, Betty (the late Neal) Facer. Al leaves behind 7 great grandchildren and numerous adopted family and friends. Alma was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Jack, Elmo, and Neal; sons Glen Willard and Randy James. Al s life was filled with many wonderful adventures including traveling with his wife during his retirement. He was a heavy equipment operator for 50 years and a proud member of the Operating Engineers Local 3 Union. He was an avid outdoorsman and an award winning race car driver for nearly 30 years for the S.L.V.R.A. and the C.A.M.E.R.A. Circuit. Al s love of racing began at a young age and his crowning achievements included winning the Mel Andrus Memorial Race at Bonneville Raceway and the Neil Parkin Memorial Race at Pocatello Speedway. He was also proud to win trophies for sportsmanship and beauty car. Al was a longtime member of the Magna Gun Club and won a lifetime membership to the Spanish Fork Gun Club. Al never left a job, race, or club without making lifelong friends. Thank you so much for the wonderful love and care that was given by the Hospice Community Service. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 22, 2011, 12:00 noon at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road. Viewing will be Monday 6-8:00 p.m. and again Tuesday 11-11:45 a.m. prior to the funeral services. Internment, Elysian Burial Gardens.
