James Christian Balle July 7, 1949 - March 19, 2014 On March 19, 2014, James was unexpectedly and peacefully called home. He was born July 7, 1949, the older of twins, to Harry Reed Balle, Sr. and Berniece Hacking Balle in Richfield, Utah. He attended elementary schools in Columbia and Sunnyside, and graduated from East Carbon High, valedictorian of his class, in 1967. His post-high school education interests were varied. He earned: an associate of science degree from CEU, a degree in small engine repair from Trade Tech in Salt Lake, a business degree from LDS Business College, and a business degree from the University of Utah, which he received with honors. His patriotic devotion to his country was evidenced by his enlistment in the United States Army, where he served honorably for four years. On December 19, 1980, he married Karen Parduhn. Although later divorced, together they had seven children, three of whom died shortly after birth. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he served as a high priest for many years. His testimony of and his relationship with his Savior, Jesus Christ, were cherished blessings. James was a quiet man who walked in the world by himself. But he also walked arm in arm with his Savior. He loved his Savior, his church, and his children. He was known for his quick wit, subtle humor, and his encyclopedic knowledge of a whole lot of stuff. James lovedand was lovedvery, very much!
