James F. Gollaher

February 28, 1949 — May 28, 2017

Our loving father, James F. Gollaher, slipped from this mortal existence on May 28, 2017, after a long, hard fought battle with lung disease. He was surely welcomed to the other side by his wife, Margerite, whom he adored. James was born on February 28, 1949, to Ray and Ruby Gollaher in Sunset, Utah. He was raised primarily in the Rose Park area of Salt Lake and graduated from West High School. On February 24, 1973, he married Margerite Ann Vietti. That marriage would later be solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They made their home in Tooele, where they raised the children, Anthony, Patrick, and Amanda. James was a devoted family man who loved his wife and children and worked relentlessly. James was well loved by so many including daughter Carolyn Holloway, mother-in-law Aloha Vietti, brother-in-law Brett Vietti (Allyson), brother-in-law Randy Buttars, and numerous nephews, a niece, and grandnephews and grandnieces. He loved the outdoors, old cars, western movies, history, bagpipes, and anything to do with John Wayne. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 7th, 12:00 noon, at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, where a viewing will be held prior to services from 11-11:45 a.m. Interment, Redwood Memorial Estates, 6500 South Redwood Road. A special thank you to Dr. Tyler Williams, Dr. Kevin Schilling, Dr. James Pearl, LDS Hospital ICU Staff and the exceptional nursing staff on the 8West whom all knew and cared for our Dad until the very end. We hold you close within our hearts, and there you will remain ~ To walk with us throughout our lives, until we meet again. Place of Birth:Sunset, UtahPlace of Death:Salt Lake City, Utah
