James Phillip Reese died peacefully in his sleep on August 3, 2018 due to complications from pancreatic cancer. He was born December 28, 1943 in Murray, Utah to Sam and Phyllis Reese. Jim worked at Kennecott and the University of Utah for many years. He also dealt cards for Casino Parties of Utah. Jim supported many charities including volunteering at the Carmel of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Saint Joseph the Worker Food Pantry as well as supporting the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Salt Lake. Jim was an avid bicyclist who supported the Tour de Cure for diabetes, and rode almost every day for hours up until he was too sick to ride any longer. Jim is survived by his four daughters: Jodi (Mike) Simmons, Wendi (Doug) Sappie, Debra (Jason) Drummond, Angela (Joe) Blue; grandchildren: Megan (Zak), Marissa, Wyatt, Logan and Savannah; his love, Naomi; and countless extended family and friends. Jim is preceded in death by his son, Jimmy. The family would like to thank Brighton Hospice for their compassionate care, especially Debi Poulsen. A viewing will be held Wednesday, August 8th, 6:00-8:00 p.m., followed by a Rosary at 8:00 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 S.
