James Wind

May 11, 1939 — April 5, 2025

Loving husband and father James Wind passed away Saturday, April 4, 2025, in Murray, Utah. He was born May 11, 1939, in Oakland, California to Bernard Glen Wind and Wanda Colby Wind.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served a mission to New England and Nova Scotia. Following his mission he attended Brigham Young University. In 1965, he married Carla Lucille Reynolds, and they settled in Taylorsville, Utah. Jim and Carla adopted their daughter LaDawn Marie in October of 1977.

Jim was a gifted artist and woodworker and enjoyed spending time at the Taylorsville Senior Center.

He is survived by his wife Carla, his daughter LaDawn (Angelo), and his two grandsons, Jakob and Dallas.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

A funeral service for James will take place on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the Paradise Ward located at 1555 Lovely Road, Taylorsville, Utah.  Friends and family are welcome at a viewing at the same location beginning at 10:00 AM.  Interment will follow the funeral service at Taylorsville City Cemetery, 4567 South Redwood Road, Taylorsville, Utah.
