Janice Morrisey Gordon 1928 ~ 2012 Janice Morrisey Gordon passed away March 18, 2012 of natural causes. She was born September 12, 1928 in Wheeling, West Virginia to Robert James Morrisey and Helen Minerva Brewster. Janice grew up in Joliet, Illinois and graduated from Illinois State University with an Elementary Teacher s degree. She moved to Provo, Utah with her mother and sister and began her teaching career in Pleasant Grove, Utah. She met David S. Gordon at church in Richland, Washington and they began a whirlwind courtship and were married on June 14, 1954. They were married for 57 years. She put Dave through Brigham Young University and they were girls Dorm Parents while there. When Dave graduated, they moved to Lebanon, Oregon and had their 4 children. In 1963, they returned to Utah and lived in various places of the Salt Lake Valley as dad taught school at Lake Ridge Elementary, in Magna, Utah. Mom taught 1 year at Whittier Elementary in the Granite School District. She was a stay-at-home mom. She loved flower arranging, crafts, music and cooking. She worked at the Salt Lake County and Utah State Fairs for many years in the Horticulture Department. She was a member of the LDS Church and had many callings, including working in the Jordan River Temple. She is survived by her children: Jamie David (Robyn) Gordon, West Jordan, Deborah Sue (Paul) Milligan, Layton, Rebekah Louise (Narcis) LeFort, Aberdeen, South Dakota; 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, David; son, Lamont Andrew. We would like to thank all the staff of the Draper Care Center and Jordan Valley Hospital. Funeral services will be Saturday, March 24, 2012, 10:00 a.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road.
