Jean Annette Hillman

December 15, 1942 — December 18, 2020

Jean A Hillman, our beloved Mother, Sister, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on December 18, 2020.

Jean was one of the hardest working people and through much of her life she worked 2 and 3 jobs to support her children raising them on her own.  As a single mother she worked tirelessly to give them a wonderful life and good home. She worked at Abbott Critical Care for over 20 years and was lovingly called "Mean Jean"! She had a stern hand when it came to work but a loving heart to those who knew her best.

Jean was born December 15, 1942 in Napa, California. Her family eventually moved back to their home in Kansas which she has always considered home.

She moved to Utah in 1973 but spent half her year in Kansas the later part of her life with her twin sister. She was in love with traveling and would often take off to many locations for months at a time sending back quite the collection of postcards. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her greatest joys in life and we will miss her dearly.

Jean is survived by her children Christopher (Tricia) Phillips, Melinda (Randy) Chatwin and Raymond (Daynene) Snyder; grandchildren Savannah, Sabre, Nicole (Aaron) Deston (Angela), Breanna, Jesse (Kaitlyn) and Brittany (Jeff); great-grandchildren Hunter, Ryker, Tucker, Bridgette, Brooklyn, Jaxon, Colt, Duke, Alvin, Ledoux, Lakota, Laynee, Lux, Kloie, Koplin, Kayson; twin sister Joan Grieve, and sister Victoria Hillman.

She is preceded in death by her father Lawrence Hillman; mother Helen Hillman; sister's Janice Weese and Carol Hurley; granddaughter Trista Murdock; and grandson Jayden Snyder.

The family would like to thank the caregivers at Good Shepherd Hospice for their exceptional care: Dr. Memon, Kimberly, Barbara and Logan.

We would also like to thank Dr. Moffat and Nurse Susan for being advocates for our mom and grandma at Jordan Valley Medical Center.  We are eternally grateful for all of you.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 26, 2020, 11:00 a.m., at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, Taylorsville, Utah, where a viewing will precede services from 10-10:45 a.m. Masks and distancing are required. Services can be viewed at: https://vimeo.com/493531473 .  Interment, Valley View Memorial Park.
