Zelda Jeanne Bowden Daybell 1932 - 2011 Zelda Jeanne Bowden Daybell, most beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend passed away peacefully on December 8, 2011 surrounded by her dear family after her courageous battle with cancer. She was 79 years old. Jeanne was the oldest of three children born in Salt Lake City, Utah April 5, 1932 to Ray and Beulah Bowden. She attended Cyprus High School in Magna, Utah where she met and was sealed to her loving husband, Garven Daybell on August 16, 1949 in the Salt Lake Temple. Their eternal marriage spanned 62 wonderful years. Jeanne took life by the horns and lived it to the fullest. Always positive, never daunted by life s challenges, her favorite saying When it s too tough for everyone else, it s just right for a Daybell came to be a family mantra. She was an incredibly devoted wife and a fabulous, compassionate mother. She was also a prolific writer and positive thinker; penning many poems and short stories that are treasured by friends and family alike. A faithful, devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, she spent her life in the service of others. Her many callings include Relief Society President, Counselor in both Ward and Stake Relief Society, Young Women s Organization, Sunday School Teacher and worker in the Jordan River Temple. Her fervent testimony and desire to better the lives of others will live on for eternity. Jeanne is survived by her devoted husband, Garven, son Bryan and wife Marlene, son Marc and wife Marcia, daughter Heidi and husband Gary Van Tress, sister LaRae and husband Paul Wixom, 24 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and dear friends. She was pre-deceased by her daughter Robyn Valencia. We would like to thank those who have provided loving care during these last months, notably Curo Hospice Services and their wonderful nurses and staff. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 13, 2011, 11:00 a.m. at the Taylorsville 4th Ward, 4310 S. 3200 W. Viewings will be at the church Monday, 6-8 p.m. and at the church Tuesday, 9:30 - 10:45 a.m. Interment Valley View Memorial Park. Under the direction of McDougal Funeral Home.
