Jeannette Gardena Wright “Oma”
Jean Wright passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 12, 2021, at 71 years old. She was a survivor, she won her fight against breast cancer and suffered from epilepsy. As her health declined it grew to be too much and she succumbed to it.
Jean was born on May 8, 1950, to Fred and Johanna Wingelaar in Holland. She was the only girl having three brothers: John (Nancy) Wingelaar, Fred (Janel) Wingelaar, Hans (Bonnie) Wingelaar. At the age of 8, her family fled to the United States leaving the war-beaten Holland in hopes of a better life.
She met and married the love of her life and together had two children. As a family, they enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and long rides in the mountains.
In 2008 Jean buried her husband and in 2017 buried her son. Leaving her to live with her daughter. During this time, she became a regular in Magna and enjoyed going to bingo every week. She touched the lives of many with her beautiful smile and kind heart. She found love once more and met boyfriend Bob “Catfish” Linford. They loved and cared for each other. He was a great comfort to Jean making sure she had everything she wanted and needed.
Oma had a living childlike way about her; she will be very missed, we love her very much. She will be missed by her daughter Maryann (Randy) Tassie; grandchildren: Dallas (Brein) Jensen, Lane Stewart, Shyann Stewart; great-grandson, Maximus Stewart; all of her loving siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents Johanna and Fred Wingelaar; husband Michael Wright Sr.; and son Michael Wright Jr.
