Our beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend passed away in a tragic automobile accident December 30, 2014 on his way to his parents cabin. JR was born May 28, 1980 in Murray, Utah to Rodney and Chrisitie Wright Steadman. He married Jessica Andino March 16, 2001; their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on September 17, 2002. JR was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He received his Eagle Scout and served an LDS Mission in New York, New York City Mission. JR has served in the Elders Quorum Presidency, Scout Master, Primary and in various other callings in the church. JR had a great sense of humor and loved to make us laugh. He was honest and trust worthy and lived his life by the Scout Oath. He loved spending time at his parent's cabin, riding ATV's, hunting, fishing and baseball. JR joined the West Jordan Police Department, positions he served were Patrol Officer, Field Training Officer, Sniper on the SWAT Team, Firearms instructor, Armorer, and his current position was Detective in the Property Crimes Unit. JR loved his wife, children, parents, siblings, and his brothers in Blue. He is survived by his wife, Jessica, children: Jeishali, Jezli, Justice, and Jaleecia, parents: Rod and Chrisitie Steadman, siblings: Cassidy (Monica) Steadman, Shandie (Nephi) Mackay, Sabrina (Kody) Olson. Preceded in death by his sister Jessie Jean. The Steadman family would like to express their love and gratitude to the many friends and family members and volunteers who donated their time and resources in locating JR and for the many prayers rendered in our behalf. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 9, 2015, 12:00 noon at the West Jordan Cobble Creek Stake, 8150 South Grizzly Way (5400 W.). Gatherings will be held Thursday, 5-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road and Friday at the church, 10:30-11:45 a.m. Interment, Murray City Cemetery.
