After a courageous battle with ovarian cancer for 8 years, Jennie Lee Whitmill, age 76 passed away peacefully at her home in Murray, Utah surrounded by loved ones. Jennie was born November 26, 1948 in Montpelier, Idaho to John and Noreen Hansen. She was one of eight children.
Jennie spent her childhood years in beautiful Garden City, Utah where she attended North Rich High School. After graduating high school, Jennie attended Ricks college in Rexburg, Idaho where she received her degree.
Jennie served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Fort Lauderdale mission. Shortly after returning home from her church mission, she moved to Northern California for a nannying position and met the love of her life, Leland Whitmill, at a Stanford singles ward. Jennie and Leland were married for time and all eternity on January 16, 1975 in the Logan, Utah Temple.
Jennie and Leland were blessed with four children, Kristin, Mindy, Seth and Aaron. Jennie's family and her relationship with her Heavenly Father and Savior were the most important things in her life. Jennie often spoke about motherhood and how nothing in her life could be more important than raising her kids with her sweet husband. Jennie was blessed with 13 grandchildren and loved to spend time with them and watch them grow.
Jennie enjoyed temple work and doing genealogy as often as she could. If you knew her, you knew how much she loved Alabama and BYU football. During football season Saturdays belonged to college football and Domino's pizza.
