Jerolyn Rupp John August 18, 1938 July 2, 2014 Jerolyn was the third child born to Floyd Rupp and Lettie Todd Rupp on August 18, 1938 in Murray, UT. Jerolyn had two older brothers, Wally and Keith and a little sister Joanne. She graduated from Granite High School and later went to complete one year of college at BYU. Jerolyn married Robert W. John in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She and Bob raised two children, Robert Jr. and Elaine. She and Bob moved to Guam after the birth of their first child, where Bob helped track the first Apollo mission. After moving back to the States, they settled in Texas where they welcomed their second child. Also at this time they starting training and racing Quarter Horses. They moved to Denver in 1981 where they continued to race and train horses. After Bob's death in 1983, she and her children moved to Utah to be closer to her family. She started working for the Utah State Highway Patrol shortly after moving back to support herself and her two children. She worked for the State Patrol for many years in different departments. Jerolyn lost her daughter Elaine in 1998. Her faith gave her immense strength during this time. It was at that time that she and her younger sister became roommates. She loved the Utah Jazz, Denver Broncos and golfers Rory McIlroy and Phil Mickelson. She loved flowers, birds and her puppies. Jerolyn had a huge heart and was always taking care of other people. She was stubborn and would not take no for an answer. Everyone who met Jeri instantly knew her as a friend. Her kindness and smile were infectious. Jerolyn was a lifelong member of the LDS church and volunteered for over 16 years at the Jordan River Temple. She lived a full life until her stroke in May and was unable to recover. With her son living in Seattle, her sister Joann and her family Allan and Jill took great care of Jeri in his absence. Jeri will be missed not only by her family, but her many friends.
