Jerry was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on March 18, 1939. Her parents were Oscar Merlin Vance and Jean Sperry. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She graduated from East High School in Salt Lake City and received her Bachelors degree from Brigham Young University. At BYU she was a member of the Kappa Deb social unit at BYU.
While attending BYU she met the love of her life Mario Blanco. They were married on Jun 20,1964. Jerry was dedicated to her marriage and both she and Mario were happily married for 58 ½ years. They are the parents of four boys - Miguel Mario Blanco (deceased), Daniel Alfonso Blanco, David Patricio Blanco and Aaron Victor Blanco. After the arrival of her first son Miguel, she wanted to dedicate her life and marriage to her family as a fulltime mother and housewife. However, raising these four boys was not easy, but Jerry was dedicated and always rose to the challenge. Her family was the most important aspect of her life. She loved being a mother and a wife. Jerry was a beautiful person and very creative individual. Jerry loved music playing both the piano and organ, sewing/quilting and genealogy. She played the organ in her ward for eighteen plus years and several years at the Jordan River Temple. She made blankets for home and many quilts of various designs over her life. She spent many hours doing family history research at the Family History library in downtown Salt Lake City. As a school teacher she was known for making visual aids for her students to learn from.
Jerry is survived by her husband Mario Blanco, sons Daniel Alfonso Blanco (Nancy Blanco), David Patricio Blanco (Saon Siv), Aaron Victor Blanco, grandchildren Jordan Blanco, Boston Parker Blanco, Beckham Koyer Blanco & Briela Bosba Blanco and sister Judy Taggart.
