Joann Francis Dover

Joann Dover, age 60, resident of West Jordan, Utah returned to her Heavenly Father on 15 June 2016, having heroically battled cancer for the last seven years. She was born in Palo Alto, California 4 May 1956, the sixth child and first girl of Reed and Leslie Francis. After graduation from high school in California, she attended Brigham Young University for a year where she enjoyed dancing with the BYU Ballroom dancers. She was married to Mark Freckleton, 1975 1996 and had five children. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in a wide variety of callings and provided continuous service to others. Her faith and testimony along with her personal relationship with her savior Jesus Christ were one of the most important parts of her life. She was especially fond of working in the Primary where she served in leadership positions. She held the Primary music program close to her heart. She was also involved in Scouting in later years. She was always looking for those in need and those who needed a friend. She regularly attended the temple to perform work for ancestors and others gone on before. Her love for her family was made evident in all that she endeavored to do. She married and was sealed for time and all eternity to her best friend and love of her life Michael Dover in the Mount Timpanogos Temple on 31 May 1997. She is survived by her husband; five children: Ami (Kendall), Christopher, Steffan (Emily), Tristan (Teresa), Trevor (Mary); three step-children: Scott, Amy, and Kari (Pedro); 15 grandchildren: Collin, Monica, Aaron and Katrina (Labrum), Jacqui and Solomon (Bryant), Jacob and Ava (Dover), Kaitlyn, Ethan and Evan (Freckleton), Jeanene, Andrew, and Eric (Freckleton), Merik (Freckleton). Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 21, 2016, 10:00 a.m., at River Oaks 1st Ward, 8825 South 1095 West. Viewings will be held, Monday, June 20th, 6-8:00 p.m., at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, and again Tuesday prior to services at the church from 9-9:45 a.m. Interment, West Jordan City Cemetery.
