Joseph Russell Johnson, aka “Jody” “Joe” “Harley “, passed away unexpectedly, Sunday, September 19, 2021.
Born December 28, 1966 to Claudia Zdunich Johnson and JR Johnson. Raised in Sandy, Utah along with his two sisters, Shauna Johnson and Tiffany Jensen.
Joe attended Hillcrest High School and graduated from Valley High School. A blessing from his first marriage is his son, Cody Johnson, that is a spitting image of him in so many ways. Joe found love once again and married the love of his life, Janice Turner Johnson in 2008.
Joe was a loving son, brother, father, husband and friend! He definitely enjoyed the wonderful outdoors from horseback riding to his Harley ride adventures, barbecues, fishing, camping, 4-wheeling and the time he spent with family and friends.
He was a fourth-generation worker with Kennecott Copper / Rio Tinto and always went above and beyond in so many capacities. He enjoyed what he did and loved the forever friendships he made in the years he worked there and all of the numerous recognition and leadership awards he received.
Joe is survived by his wife, Janice; sons, Cody (Lena) Johnson, Jake (Jenna Mae Marizza) Turner, Josh Turner; mother, Claudia Z McKay; father JR (Kae) Johnson; sisters, Shauna Johnson, Enedelia Carter and Tiffany (Eric) Morgan; brother, John Thomas; 6 grandchildren; extended family, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and many many friends.
Preceded in death by grandparents, Joseph and Lois Zdunich and Reed and Josephine Johnson; uncles, Steve Zdunich, George Zdunich, Richard Zdunich and George Johnson; aunt, Dorothy Zdunich; sister, Dawna Baker.
Joe still had so much life left in him and left us way too soon. We love him and his memories will continue to live on as we remember him and talk of him often. God be with you, Joe, til we meet again.
