Joel Frank Farley, age 76, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family, on February 19, 2025.
Born September 17, 1948, in Salt Lake City, Utah and raised in the Glendale area by his loving grandparents, Frank and Tolla Hall. Joel met his soulmate, Arlene Farrer, while out dancing in 1970. They were made for each other! They created an amazing family with 3 kids, Justine (Aaron) Witcher, Brandon Farley, and Sara Farley. They have 7 grandchildren, Marquel Witcher, Jaida Hoose, Ariez Witcher, Trace Farley, Christian Robbins, Cameron Farley, and Marcus Farley. They also have 3 great-grandchildren, Kyrin Witcher, Bryxlin Whitby, and Sylus Whitby.
Dad served in the U.S. Army in the infantry in Vietnam. He worked for 38 years for the United States Postal Service as a mail handler. Dad was a craftsman who loved working with wood. He spent many hours in his woodshop! He loved gardening and his yard, and was known to always be puttering around the house doing a new project! Dad loved his family more than anything, except or perhaps, his dog Scooter!
He is preceded in death by his mother, Frankie Truscott, his sister Cherie Gunn, and his grandparents, Frank and Tolla Hall.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at 11:00 AM, at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 S. Redwood Rd. Taylorsville, Utah.
