John Kent DaBell

January 16, 1943 — December 5, 2016

John "Kent" DaBell, 73, passed away peacefully in his home on December 5, 2016 in Magna, Utah after being surrounded by love while fighting a battle with cancer. Kent was born on January 16, 1943 to Jack Moline DaBell and Idonna Clark DaBell. In 1962, Kent faithfully served for 2.5 years on an LDS mission in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Upon his return, he joined the Idaho National Guard, because of his employment he was considered a vital member of his community, and was not called to serve active duty, during the Vietnam War. He earned his associate degree from Rick's College of Idaho. Kent was sealed to his sweetheart Linda Dolores Schoenfeld on August 19, 1968, in the Salt Lake Temple. In their 48 years of marriage, they had many adventures together from having 13 children to spending days at the racetrack while Kent lived his dream of drag racing. While living in Missouri, Kent served 7 years as a Branch President in the LDS church. He loved his family and classical music. He enjoyed knowledge and loved to read. Kent was survived by his wife Linda DaBell; his children Jeff DaBell, Richard DaBell, Mark DaBell, Aimee DaBell Johnson, Aryn DaBell, David DaBell, John DaBell, Andrea DaBell, William DaBell, Samuel DaBell, and Emily DaBell; and his 25 grandchildren. He was preceded by his two sons, Michael and Daniel DaBell. Dear DadWe miss you! Viewing will be held at McDougal Funeral Home (4330 S Redwood Road, Taylorsville, UT) on Friday December 9, 2016 from 6:00-8:00pm and Saturday December 10, 2016 viewing will be held at the Lakeridge Ward House (3735 S 7525 W, Magna UT) from 8:00-9:00am and funeral services at 9:00am. Kent will be laid to rest next to his parents in the Teton-Newdale Cemetery 530 East 3000 North, Sugar City, Idaho. Place of Birth:Idaho Falls, IdahoPlace of Death:Magna, Utah
