John Owen Wilkerson

John Owen Wilkerson passed away at 11:00 a.m. February 9, 2015, at the VA Hospital after a two year fight against liver disease. We would like to give a special thanks to the VA Hospital staff for exceptional care throughout many years, a very special thank you to Dr. Christopher Tietze, Nurse Practitioner Margaret from the liver clinic, and the hospice at the VA Hospital. John was preceded in death by Annette Smith. He is survived by his wife, Anita Wilkerson; daughters, Crystal Daniels, Chelsea Wilkerson (Skyler Frost), Judy (Paul) Bettinson, and Jamie (Ty) Clift; son, Jamie (Piper) Daniels; son-in-law, Don Smith; and seven grandkids, Aubree, Tyson Daniels, Dylan Smith, Christopher, Micheal, Bailey and Nick Clift., John served in the U.S. Army and received an honorable discharge. John spent his retirement fishing, remodeling, camping, and holding family barbecues at his home in Taylorsville, Utah. A memorial for John will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 17, 2015, at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road in Taylorsville. A graveside service will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Camp Williams - Utah Veterans Cemetery & Memorial Park, 17111 South Camp Williams Road in Bluffdale. We extend a special thanks for the military graveside services that will be provided.
